Jamal Anderson

On growing up with an NFL star as a dad: “He mentioned it to me a lot, especially the physicality he brought to the game. Growing up, I played running back my entire life until my 10th grade year of high school, which I switched to the other side of the ball-- I wasn’t too happy about it. He said, ‘Well now you get to flip the script and hit some people.’”

On transitioning to linebacker: “I think it was a great decision. I always tell my high school coach how grateful I am that he made that decision and my dad supporting it… I am happy for sure.”

On learning from Trotter, Carter, and Woodaz: “Not only on the field but also off the field. They are both two great dudes that I can always spend some time around and just learn from. And then obviously Woodaz as well, similar body type. Learning from those guys and constantly listening to Coach Wes (Goodwin) and hearing my coaches and developing every day.”

On his goals for the season: “Improving on things my coaches see and things I see in myself from footwork to just learning more about the game. Just staying around these older guys, especially while they’re here and just learning. But really just trusting the process, listening to my coaches and continuing to develop every day.”
