Clemson Shuts Out Boston College on Senior Night

Clemson, S.C. - No. 15 Clemson men’s soccer (9-3-2,4-2-1 ACC) recorded their most goals in a conference game this season and defeated the Boston College Eagles (3-8-4, 0-5-2 ACC) 6-0 at Historic Riggs Field on senior night and in their final regular season home game.

During an explosive first half, Alex Meinhard scored the first goal of the game in the 19’ followed by a penalty kick scored by Ousmane Sylla in the 22’. At the 30’, Ousmane Sylla scored another goal and just minutes later Nathan Richmond scored a goal assisted by Alex Meinhard leaving the score 4-0 at halftime. Boston College only recorded one shot in the first half to the Tigers’ 14.

Early in the second half of the match Meinhard scored his second goal of the night in the 50’ assisted by Sylla. In the 61’ Sylla finished off his first career hat trick, netting his third goal of the evening giving the Tigers the 6-0 win on senior night.

Clemson’s six goals is the most the Tigers have scored in an ACC game since October 19, 2019 (Syracuse, 7-4 W). Clemson finished the night with 25 total shots and held the Eagles to just two. Logan Brown made the Tigers only save late in the second half.
