We heard from junior linebacker, Jeremiah Trotter Jr., on Monday following Clemson’s double overtime loss to Miami. Watch the full video or take in a few highlights of what was discussed in Tiger Town here!

Jeremiah Trotter

On mistakes made against Miami: “Just going back through the film and really just got to make sure we clean up our run fade gaps a little bit better. I thought we did a really good job defending our gaps in the first half– in the second half we started to misfit a little bit, but nothing that we can’t fix. We’re gonna make sure that's a focus point going into this week… just making sure we’re doing what we have to do.”

On the loss to Miami: “It's definitely something you notice as a player and something that you don't like. But at the end of the day, they deserved to be able to celebrate a win– it was a big win for them. Like you said, Clemson is always gonna get everybody’s best, so they deserve to celebrate. Being on the other side of that, you just have to move on. We have to win with class and also lose with class, so I feel like our guys handled that very well.”

On what the team learned from the loss: “I feel like personally and as well as my teammates, just learning how to improve and try to grow from the losses and not just let them linger. We try to have the same mentality that we have even after a win, but this week coming off that loss is gonna be the same mentality. We look to grow, to take coaching and continue to improve and focus on what we have coming up and not what has happened in the past.”

On turnovers: “We try to practice every practice on both sides of the ball. Offense makes us compete and we make them compete. We try to make every practice that game-type mentality. We try to give each other looks at what we’re gonna see on gameday. But overall, that just comes down to fundamentals on both sides of the ball, not just on the offensive side, but also the defensive side. We need to clean that up as well to play complementary football.”
