NSD RECAP.

Well, it felt more like Valentines Day than Christmas yesterday in Clemson as the Tigers inked just two players, neither of which is truly expected to contribute significantly on the gridiron, but a scholarship and preferred walk-on spot is a significant accomplishment, so kudos to both Banks Pope and Will Taylor for joining the Clemson Family.

Clemson's class of 19 scholarship signees finished ranked No. 7 according to Rivals, No. 5 in 247, and No. 5 on ESPN’s list-- but No. 1 in your heart.

That being said, Dabo Swinney did sit down with Adam Gorney from Rivals to discuss the impact that Barrett Carter‍ could have in Tiger Town.

As for the rest of the country, here’s what CBS Sports had to say about the day:

After a day full of hats on heads and socially-distanced announcements, 2021 National Signing Day is in the books -- and with it, the Class of 2021 is nearly complete. The 2021 recruiting rankings have settled with Alabama not only on top but pulling in the highest-rated class of all-time.

ZOOM GOES THE DYNAMITE.

So how does Saban do it? How does he get record-setting classes? Well, I don’t know if you’ve heard this yet or not, but Nick Saban’s Zoom with a recruit got out, and his sales pitch to land top players at Alabama is excellent.

You know I’m not one to pump up the Crimson Tide, but you have to give Saban credit for dispelling the myths that are out there about playing at programs like the one in Tuscaloosa and the one in Tiger Town.

Wouldn’t you love to hear what Coach Swinney has to say to recruits? I know I would. That’s why I just purchased several marmosets that I’m placing around the football offices...more on that in a few minutes.

SHUFFLED UP.

Good luck keeping up with the basketball schedule these days, and thank goodness for virtual tickets.

On Wednesday afternoon, the ACC announced sweeping adjustments to the basketball schedule after both Louisville and FSU had positive COVID-19 results in their programs. The changes included Clemson’s matchup with Georgia Tech being moved from Saturday, Feb 13 to Friday, Feb 12. The move will allow the Yellow Jackets a chance to play Pitt two days later on Sunday.

Here is the full release from the ACC:

The Atlantic Coast Conference announced today that the Louisville at Virginia men’s basketball game scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 6, has been postponed. Pitt will now play at Virginia on Saturday at 4 p.m.

The postponement follows a positive test, subsequent quarantining, and contact tracing within the Louisville men’s basketball program. The team is adhering to the outlined protocols within the ACC Medical Advisory Group report, which is available on theACC.com (full report).

The ACC also announced new dates for the previously postponed NC State at Virginia and Pittsburgh at Georgia Tech games. The NC State-Virginia game has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 24, while the Pitt-Georgia Tech game will now be played on Sunday, Feb. 14. In addition, the Georgia Tech at Clemson will move up one day and be played on Friday, Feb. 12.

Below is the revised schedule for the affected dates:

A BIT OFF THE PATH.

I’ve always been fascinated by the difference between dogs and cats and their willingness to come when their owner calls their name. Were dogs just willing to listen? Do cats not understand their names?

This story got my attention because I know that dogs and cats cannot eavesdrop on us-- but apparently, some monkeys can listen in on their peers.

This next story will either get you up or down...according to CNBC.com, the average American has $90,460 of debt, while the average net worth is $748,800. But if you are in my age group, 35-44, they give an idea of where our peers are. I may have some serious work to do...Speaking of which, if you feel great after reading that info-- make sure you subscribe to the website and help me get closer to your level.

As Dave Ramsey would say, beans and rice, rice and beans.
