The Storylines

The Tigers return home to Death Valley to face a dangerous SMU team riding momentum after a pair of ACC wins. Clemson’s offense showed balance and creativity in last week’s 41–10 win over Boston College — and they’ll look to build on that rhythm against a fast, aggressive Mustang defense. 

All eyes will be on Christopher Vizzina as the Tigers will likely be without Cade Klubnik during today’s 2024 ACC Championship Game rematch in Death Valley.

We have reached the two minute timeout.

SMU just got a huge first down with a catch from Jordan Hudson down to the Clemson 9. Tigers are out of timeouts and that may do it with the Mustangs up 29-24.

Clemson is about to drop back-to-back home games for the first time since 2008.

On the biggest play of the day...Clemson has a coverage bust on 3rd-and-10, giving SMU a key first down up 29-24 with 2:00.

There are many people at fault for this, but NOT Christopher Vizzina. He really played well today. I looked poised throughout the game.

I don't think that stat is correct-- I think they forgot Clemson lost to South Carolina last year, then LSU to open the season. Maybe they meant back-to-back in the same season?

6-yard TD run from Chris Johnson. The two-point try is no good. Mustangs up 35-24 with 1:03 left in the contest.

FINAL | SMU 35, Clemson 24

Tigers drop to 3-4 overall and 2-3 in the ACC. This is now the fifth straight loss at home to a Power 4 opponent. Clemson will try to right the ship in two weeks at home against Duke following a bye week next week.
