Clemson Baseball (3-1) added another victory to their record over the Charlotte 49ers (3-1). Doug Kingsmore Stadium was the place to be on Monday Afternoon, as Logan Davidson, Jordan Greene, Adam Hackenberg, and Bryce Teodosio all hit home runs and the Tigers held their own.

Davidson hit his second home run of the year in the first inning while Greene followed up in the second inning to hit his first homer of the season. Hackenburg then had a career first, putting two more runs onto the scoreboard in the fourth inning. In the fifth inning, the Tigers ran the score up again by two, dominating the 49ers 6-0.

Charlotte responded in the sixth inning, scoring four runs on four hits. In the seventh inning, an error allowed the 49ers to put up another run, Clemson only winning then by three runs. However, Teodosio took the lead back in the top of the eighth by hitting his second home run of the year.

Freshman leftie Keyshawn Askew (1-0) pitched the win in his first appearance and start as a Tiger. In the 5.1 innings he pitched, Askew yielded two hits, three runs, and one walk, striking out six 49ers. Carson Spiers took over for the remaining two innings, saving Clemson for the second time this season. Charlotte pitcher Bryce McGowan pitched for three innings and ultimately took the loss for the 49ers after allowing two runs on three hits.

The Tigers will be back in Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Wednesday to play Tennessee Tech. Tickets are available to fans for only $2.
