Trevor Lawrence has high-ankle sprain, not ruled out this week
According to head coach Doug Pederson, the news out of Jacksonville today was positive as it was announced that Trevor Lawrence has a high-ankle sprain. The Jaguars aren’t ruling him out yet for this weekend's matchup with the Browns.
“It’s just a right high-ankle sprain. Everything looks stable. Everything looks good,” Pederson said.
Last night, Trevor Lawrence went down with what looked like a severe injury with 5:43 left in a 28-28 ball game with Cincinnati. Jaguar offensive lineman Walker Little inadvertently stepped on Lawrence’s ankle, sending the quarterback awkwardly to the turf.
After trying to take a few steps, Lawrence pounded the ground with his fist and threw his helmet to the turf in frustration. Initially, the former No. 1 pick grabbed at his ankle, which was later reported as the injury.
Lawrence was assisted off the field and hobbled to the locker room with several shots of him on television returning to the tunnels at EverBank Stadium. At the time Lawrence was listed as “questionable” to return, but reports later indicated it was an ankle sprain resulting in today’s MRI.
