Four-star wide receiver target: "They'll sit somewhere at the top for sure"
The Clemson Tigers have zeroed in on their top wide receiver prospect in the junior class.
Jordan Gidron is a 6’2, 190-pound four-star out of Ridge View High School in Columbia, South Carolina. He’s already drawn comparisons to a current Clemson receiver.
“Jordan reminds me of Adam Randall ,” said Ridge View High School head coach Derek Howard. I coached against him four years in a row, and he was a dude.”
Gidron was on campus for the spring game and spent time with Clemson wide receivers coach Tyler Grisham.
“He (Grisham) said I’m at the top of his 2026 list, and he was excited to have me on campus,” Gidron said.
Even though he grew up a Georgia and South Carolina fan, hearing that from Grisham carries weight.
“It’s been a school that I’ve always watched and was good when I was growing up,” Gidron said. “They always produced good receivers, so being at the top of his list definitely means a lot to me.”
Even though Clemson hasn’t offered any juniors yet, Gidron added that Grisham and the rest of the staff are making him feel like a priority.
“Coach Swinney even told me he was excited to have me on campus,” he said.
A Clemson offer would mean a lot to Gidron, and the program would immediately soar up his board.
“They’ll sit somewhere at the top for sure,” Gidron said.
Growing up in South Carolina, Gidron watched Clemson's national championship runs, Sammy Watkins and Tee Higgins.
The four-star has visited campus three times since November. He attended the 31-20 win over UNC, Clemson’s Elite Day recruiting event, and the spring game.
Bryant Wesco’s spring success sat heavily with Gidron, who also projects as a boundary receiver.
“The game showed that you can come in and play as a freshman at a school that has produced great receivers,” he said.
Howard has high praise for the sophomore pass catcher. He knew Gidron would be special from the moment he stepped on campus.
“A Power 5 kid looks like a Power 5 kid, and they don’t look like everybody else,” he said. “It was obvious he was going to be special.”
Gidron is an extremely physical wide receiver who can also take the top off a defense with his 10.7-second 100-meter speed. He has a chance to finish as the valedictorian of his class. It’s not hard to see why the four-star is a candidate to be among Clemson’s first offers in the 2026 class.
“He’s really just starting to scratch the surface of what he can do,” Howard said. Last year he played through an injury, so all the interest he’s been getting and the film he has, he was injured.”
