The Storylines

Saturday's game against AP No. 8 SMU will be Clemson's second game against an AP Top 10 team this season, joining its season opener against then-No. 1 Georgia. Clemson has 30 wins all-time against AP Top 10 squads. Eighteen of those 30 wins have come under Head Coach Dabo Swinney, who is 18-13 in his 31 previous matchups against Top 10 teams.

Wide open TD for Brashard Smith with the wheel route out of the backfield. 7 plays, 74 yards in 2:30. Mustangs are right back in it in Charlotte, trailing 24-14 with 11:04 to play in the third quarter. Momentum now on the side of SMU.

Clemson's offense has gone stagnant. SMU has momentum, and the Tigers haven't scored a touchdown since mid-Q1.

That was how long Clemson's latest series just lasted.

3-and-out for the Tigers as they can't get anything going and the punt almost got blocked. SMU takes over at midfield with 10:13 to play in the game.

Cade Klubnik was trying to hit Antonio Williams I think on the in route but the ball was nearly incomplete. Clemson punts and SMU has the ball with a chance to tie.

If SMU scores, they might go for two. Clemson can't do anything on offense. Without a running game and questionable overall play calling, this is bad.

Timeout SMU. It will be third down with 50 seconds to play in the contest. SMU is inside the Clemson 18, threatening trailing 31-24. I think the Mustangs will go for two if they score here. Clemson has done little offensively in the second half.

Adam Randall with the big kickoff return sets up the Antonio Williams catch before Hauser nails the field goal.

Clemson is a lock for the CFP and I think SMU should be in as well. We'll have answers by tomorrow at noon.
