When Clemson fans look at the Tigers’ offensive potential in 2025, two names that consistently rise to the top are sophomore wideouts T.J. Moore and Bryant Wesco Jr. After breakout freshman campaigns, both players have drawn praise from wide receivers coach Tyler Grisham, not just for their production, but for their work ethic and growth heading into year two.

Moore and Wesco made headlines in 2024 as the rare pair of first-year receivers to emerge as starters on a College Football Playoff team. Moore finished his freshman year with 45 catches for 651 yards and 5 touchdowns, showing a knack for big plays and a smooth transition to the college game, even after arriving late in the summer.

“He made so many plays, but as a younger guy and, again, arriving in the second session of summer school, he was a little behind with the playbook, right, trying to learn it,” Grisham shared. “It was just so hard to keep him off the field… he proved that he could handle it and made some big plays for us.”

Wesco, meanwhile, quickly became a favorite target with his blend of size and speed. He hauled in 41 passes for 708 yards and 5 touchdowns, averaging an eye-popping 17.3 yards per catch. Grisham noted that Wesco has bulked up since last fall, putting on nearly 20 pounds without losing any of his signature speed.

“He’s going to be able to use his body better this season, play behind his hands, using his hands more,” Grisham said. “I think he can play with a little bit more physicality this season.”

Both receivers have earned the trust of their coaches and teammates by embracing the “earn your reps” culture within the wideout room. There are no guaranteed spots, and Grisham makes it clear that even returning stars must set the standard every day. “You’re going to earn your opportunities, right? Like, make it hard for me to keep you off the field,” he said.

With the experience of last year’s playoff run under their belts and a hunger to be even better, Moore and Wesco headline what many consider one of the deepest, most talented receiver groups in the country. Grisham is excited by the challenge—and the possibilities. “I really want to roll and have fresh bodies on the field at all times and guys making plays. So I think that’s the easy way to do it, you know, is just to roll your guys, and they’re going to earn that.”

If their sophomore jump matches their freshman flashes, Moore and Wesco are poised not just to lead Clemson, but to become two of the ACC’s most electrifying receivers.
