Clemson men’s basketball added a key piece to its future frontcourt on Saturday, as Davidson Day School standout Will Stevens (6'10, 200), the No. 22 center in the 2026 class according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, committed to the Tigers on CBS Sports College Basketball’s Instagram.
The Davidson, North Carolina native chose Clemson over finalist Vanderbilt, picking the Tigers from a group that also included Davidson, Saint Mary’s, and South Carolina. Stevens had over 20 offers, including ones from Cincinnati, Mississippi State, N.C. State, Texas Tech, Virginia, Wake Forest, and West Virginia.
Clemson made a strong impression early, hosting Stevens on an official visit August 30, followed by trips to Vanderbilt (Sept. 26) and South Carolina (Oct. 3) before he made his final decision.
As a junior at Davidson Day, Stevens averaged 12 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 2 blocks per game on a talented squad led by UNC freshman guard Isiah Denis. His blend of size, skill, and mobility has drawn praise from scouts and evaluators.
“Will moves extremely well for his size. He rim runs. He gets easy baskets in transition. He has a tremendous skill set, great hands and great footwork in the post. He has the ability to score over both shoulders, especially going over his left shoulder with his right hand. He can really space the floor with his perimeter shooting. Has a sweet shooting stroke, and can knock down shots at a high level. Defensively, he has great timing blocking and altering shots. He's active on the glass offensively and defensively,” said Tyler Lewis of Phenom Hoop Report.
Stevens becomes head coach Brad Brownell’s first commitment in the 2026 class.
