CLEMSON, S.C. — When Clemson needed points Saturday night, Nolan Hauser kept providing them.
Hauser connected on all five of his field-goal attempts in Clemson’s 22-7 win over Georgia Southern, accounting for 16 points with five field goals and an extra point.
The five made field goals matched Hauser’s career high, which he originally set against Florida State in 2024, and tied one of the highest single-game totals in Clemson history.
Hauser’s performance was the eighth five-field-goal game by a Clemson kicker. He also joined Nelson Welch as the only kickers in school history to make five field goals in a game multiple times during their careers.
But Hauser did more than pile up points.
He connected from 20, 34 and 38 yards in the second quarter before delivering from considerably longer range in the fourth.
Hauser hit from 50 yards and then 49 yards in the final period, helping Clemson keep Georgia Southern at a distance while the Tigers’ defense protected the lead.
The 50-yarder was Hauser’s first field goal of at least 50 yards this season and the fourth of his Clemson career. That moved him into sole possession of fourth place in program history in field goals of 50 yards or longer, trailing only B.T. Potter (nine), Donald Igwebuike (five) and Chris Gardocki (five).
His night also pushed him higher on several of Clemson’s career lists.
Hauser is now 41-of-51 on field goals in his career, moving past Mark Buchholz’s 37 made field goals into Clemson’s all-time top 10.
He also moved into the top 10 in school history in career kick scoring. With 222 career points, Hauser passed Bob Paulling in that category and moved past former Clemson running backs Wayne Gallman and Andre Ellington into 14th place in overall career scoring.
The performance came on a night when touchdowns were difficult to find for the Tigers. Clemson reached the end zone only once, on Christopher Vizzina’s 10-yard touchdown pass to T.J. Moore, leaving Hauser to turn a series of stalled drives into points.
He delivered every time Clemson called on him.
After matching his career high and moving up several pages of Clemson’s record book Saturday, Hauser will get his next opportunity when the Tigers host North Carolina in their ACC opener.
