Listen: Coach Speak with Tommy Bowden
On Clemson's performance at Virginia Tech: "Dabo, one of the things you just don't know until you become a head coach, he's cracked the code on preparing for big games. You can just go back and look at a couple of years ago. Started when he beat Georgia, beat LSU, and he beat Oklahoma, of course, Ohio State and Alabama.
In the big games, he knows how to get his team focused. The level of success he's had I never had that, my father had something similar, but he said, "The hardest part is not achieving success, it's sustaining success."
On Coach Swinney getting on the Clemson students: "It's good to be king. You can do that when you are winning. He's gonna be able to solve global warming if he keeps winning."
On not sleepwalking against Wake Forest: Wake Forest is probably a better team than Boston College on both sides of the ball. They challenge you more ways offensively. One of the keys to playing Wake Forest is, don't play them up there. The fact that he's got them at home, the fans will create electricity that you don't get at their place. So he's got a couple of things in his favor, the Boston College game being one. Going through that thing and sleepwalking through three quarters and playing them at home.
