Paul Johnson on not winning recently against Clemson: "Well, who has?"

Before every home game, the Yellow Jackets enter by following the Ramblin' Wreck onto the field.

At the ACC Kickoff Charlotte back in July, Georgia Tech's eleventh-year head coach Paul Johnson told the media that the Yellow Jackets wouldn’t win in an “arms race” with Tigers in July at the ACC Kickoff Charlotte. 

The Jackets currently sit in last place of the ACC Coastal division through three games after back-to-back losses to South Florida and Pitt. 

Tech put together a valiant second-half comeback against Pitt last weekend but fell short. The morning after the game, Johnson was asked about their recent lack of success against Clemson.

“I get a kick (out of) people (who say), well, we haven’t beaten Clemson in three years or however how long it’s been,” Johnson said. “Well, who has? They act like we’re the only ones losing to them. They’re good. We’re going to get a plan and go out there at home and try our best to win the game.”’

The Tigers are a remarkable 56-12 against ACC competition since the beginning of the decade. Georgia Tech isn't the only school losing the arms race - Clemson has a winning streak against all but two ACC teams. Virginia Tech has lost five straight games to the Tigers. NC State hasn't beaten Clemson in six years, Boston College in seven, and Wake Forrest in nine. 

Only Pitt and Syracuse hold one-game winning streaks over the Tigers. If you've watched a Clemson season recently, you're probably getting as big of a kick out of the question as Paul Johnson.
