Entering the Cotton Bowl, Clemson would have had a distinct advantage over any team they would have faced outside of Alabama, given the Tiger’s three previous trips to college football playoffs. Other than the Crimson Tide, making their fifth consecutive trip to the playoff, Clemson’s run is unparalleled.
