Clemson gets commit No. 8 for 2020

The Clemson football 2020 recruiting class added the eighth commit today when Mitchell Mayes‍ picked the Tigers over N.C. State, North Carolina, Florida State, Georgia, Auburn and 17 others. 

Mayes was one of many recruits that visited the Clemson campus for Junior Day. Before the weekend visit, he was regarded as a Wolfpack lean and on Monday morning, surprisingly, he announced via Twitter, “Big news tonight at 7PM.” He delivered the news and he is “ALL IN."

The 6-foot-5, 315-pound four-star Leesville Road High(NC) star is the fourth offensive lineman in the class. He joins Paul Tchio, Walker Parks and John Williams.
