Brad Brownell and Clemson basketball have made another splash in the transfer market. The 2019-2020 squad just improved tremendously.

The Tigers just landed the commitment of Khavon Moore, a four-star small forward from the class of 2018. Moore spent his freshman year at Texas Tech, which just played for the national championship.

ESPN’s Jeff Borzello reported on April 18 that Moore put his name in the transfer portal. Almost a month later, Moore has decided his new destination will be Clemson.

We noted on Clemson Sports Talk several weeks ago that, given his talent level and time he has left in college, Moore would be a welcomed addition to Brownell’s program.

Moore, who was a top-50 recruit in 2018, announced his decision via Twitter: “New beginnings...”

The 6-foot-7 forward played just two minutes for Texas Tech due to a leg injury he sustained while in high school. Moore was shut down for the season right after that game and the University pursued a medical redshirt.

Moore is from Macon, Ga. and was Texas Tech’s highest-rated recruit since 2007 when the ESPN recruiting database began. Moore was the No. 4 player in the state of Georgia before taking his talents to Chris Beard’s Red Raider team.

We don't know if Moore will be granted immediate eligibility, but if he would certainly bring new  life to a Clemson roster that is losing four of its starters and is desperately in need of some scoring. This will be Brownell’s biggest pick up in the transfer market, which he has utilized plenty while at Clemson, since he acquired Marcquise Reed from Robert Morris.
