Tate Schroeder Ranked No. 70 By The ITA; Louka/Riley No. 68
Tate Schroeder has been ranked as No. 70 singles player in the country, as announced by the ITA on Tuesday morning. This season, the senior is 9-5 in singles, including 7-4 at line one and 2-1 in the No. 2 position. For full release by the ITA click here.
The ranking comes on the heels of her 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 triumph over No. 23 Kenya Jones on Friday afternoon at Georgia Tech. It marks the fourth time in her career at Clemson that Schroeder has defeated an opponent ranked by the ITA and the first time that she has defeated a top-25 opponent.
As a sophomore in the 2017-18 season, Schroeder earned three ranked wins against No. 85 Madison Westby, No. 95 Tea Jandric and No. 107 Claudia Wiktorin. In the 2018-19 season, Schroeder went 9-8 in singles but missed most of the season due to injury. The Centennial, Colo., native joined Clemson as a sophomore from Mizzou in the fall of 2017. Since her arrival in Clemson, Schroeder has gone 36-35 in singles during her career.
Additionally, after making their debut in the rankings during the fall season at No. 56, Sydney Riley/Louka as the 68th-ranked pair. The Tigers are back in action on Friday when they host Florida State at noon at The Duckworth Family Tennis Facility.
