CLEMSON FOOTBALL & RECRUITING COVERAGE |
The Storylines
College football, along with everything else in today’s society has been impacted in some way by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. All of us have wondered since the summer about whether or not the 2020 college football season would even be played. But despite that, the ACC, in consultation with medical experts, have decided that college football in 2020 is possible and here we are.
Clemson will kick off the 125th season in the history of the program in Winston-Salem on Saturday evening with no fans in the stands, due to an order from the state of North Carolina barring fans from attending games in-person.
Saturday’s matchup against the Demon Deacons marks the first time Dabo Swinney’s team has opened the season on the road since 2016, when the Tigers visited Jordan-Hare Stadium for a primetime contest against the Auburn Tigers, a game they won 19-13, on their way to winning the school’s second national championship.
Clemson is seeking their 10th straight 10-win season in 2020. If the Tigers were to accomplish that feat, they would join Florida State and Alabama as the only teams to do that.
Spend this evening’s game with us in this thread! Brandon Stockdale will be holding down the fort along with the rest of the CST Staff.
