Clemson vs. Miami announced as primetime matchup
For the second week in a row, Clemson will be playing a home ACC contest in primetime. The No. 1 Clemson Tigers are set to face off against the No. 8 Miami Hurricanes at 7:30 p.m. EST on Saturday, Oct. 10 on ABC.
In what is being billed as a potential ACC Championship preview, Dabo Swinney and co. will welcome a Hurricanes team that appears to be catching fire early. Miami is currently 3-0 on the season and is fresh off a 52-10 thumping of in-state rival Florida State.
Despite all eyes likely being glued to the matchup, Swinney reaffirms that nothing has changed for the Tigers.
“We won’t prepare any differently than we do for the Citadel,” Swinney remarked at a recent press conference. “We do what we do. We’ll show up Monday ready and we have a daily focus each day.”
It remains to be seen whether College Gameday will venture to Death Valley for this one, but given the fact that both teams will likely be top 10 programs by the time the date rolls around -- coupled with the fact that the game is being played in the nightcap slot on ABC -- one could make a safe assumption that the Gameday crew might be coming to our city for this highly-anticipated showdown.
