No. 1 Clemson is home again to take on Boston College, and Clemson is a 24 point favorite over the Eagles. You can see how some of the national media views this game below.

Athlon Sports, 34-17 Clemson

What they said:

Overall, despite the loss of Lawrence, Clemson is still a vastly more talented team. The Boston College line, one that has not played well at times this season, will face its biggest challenge of the year. It's doubtful that rushing yards will be plentiful, so much of the pressure will fall on Jurkovec and the passing game. But of course, more people are interested in what the Clemson offense will look like. Uiagalelei will look like a freshman at times and some of his throws will be off-target. But he will make some big plays running and passing downfield. Boston College was going to present some difficulties anyway, even with Lawrence in the lineup. But the Tigers will still win fairly comfortably and the Notre Dame discussion — and whether Lawrence will play — will begin.

College Football News, 44-20 Clemson

What they said:

And now everything just took a big turn with Trevor Lawrence testing positive for the coronavirus.

Clemson has a future superstar in DJ Uiagalelei waiting and ready to go, and the football team should be fine, but obviously the dynamic changes.

In a right-offense-right-coaching-right-quarterback-right-day sort of way, Boston College has a shot to pull off something quirky.

Clemson isn’t close to being a program that looks ahead, but the Notre Dame showdown is up next, and BC has enough of a passing attack to make this scary. No one has totally blowtorched the Eagle secondary, but generating the big plays down the field hasn’t been a problem.

One burst of first half points will do it for Clemson and the running game will take over, but it’ll still be at least a wee bit of a game in the third quarter.

Sporting News, 45-16 Clemson

What they said:

Clemson is becoming a difficult team to bet on. The Tigers are 2-4 against the spread this season, and they are 0-4 against the spread when that number is more than 27 points. This team can cover any game, but Boston College is a pleasant surprise at 4-2 straight up under first-year coach Jeff Hafley.

Pick: Clemson wins 45-16 but FAILS TO COVER the spread.

USA Today, BC covers -23.5

What they said:

I don’t think you’ll see much difference in the type of offense Dabo and Clemson will put on the field with the backup being in there but I do think Boston College is able to cover the number here.  Take BC plus the points in this one.
