Derion Kendrick wasn't in the doghouse, it was the "Love Shack"

On getting back on the gridiron:

"Our guys were so excited to play. We talked about really just setting the tone early and we did that. I thought defensively, they came out and just an awesome job right out of the gate. The first quarter was dominant. We've gonna play football here, obviously, 125 years so it's hard to do things that have never been done and somehow someway, this team just kind of finds a way to do some unusual things. I'm just really proud of them. The defense set the tone. This quarterback had and four interceptions all year and we had four tonight and really could have had a couple more. We have five takeaways plus four in the margin. Then offensively explosive, a lot of big plays with 31 points in the first quarter which is the most points EVER at Clemson in the first quarter. So pretty amazing accomplishment."

On Derion Kendrick not playing:

"Yeah, he was dressed, we just didn't play him today. You know, sometimes people might say you are in the doghouse, I like to say he's in the Love Shack. Just a little team discipline with him and I love DK, actually, he's one of my favorite. The Bible says the greatest form of discipline is love, so just put him in the Love Shack this weekend. Hopefully, he'll respond right away. I loved his attitude, today. Guys stepped up and Mario (Goodrich) took advantage of the opportunity. (Andrew) Booth continued to play well, and LeAnthony (Williams) had a big play at the end. Malcolm Greene is a young guy that's just been kind of coming. We actually played him in some nickel stuff. He's really responding well, almost had another interception-- probably should have had it. Fred Davis got in there. So we love our guys, man."

On the flea-flicker call: 
"Well, we had it in? Yes, felt like it was would have been a good time to call it. We had just intercepted it and they're very, very aggressive. It's just kind of the nature of who they are. They're going to they're going to have those safeties downhill, 8-9-10 yards deep, and they're, they're all just run fitters, and a lot of times it's basically like a Cover Zero. We had that in all week knowing that they'd be aggressive when we push crack, and it was awesome. I didn't think it'd be that open, but Cornell did a great job of selling it, guys did a good job of protecting, and that was a fun one-- the guys enjoyed that."

On what getting through this season has been like:
"It almost felt like an opener all over again. We were really eager to play and obviously it's not an opener because we we we played a bunch of games. But you know, every week it's been like, 'alright, who can play this week?' So it's been a good challenge. It's made us better as coaches. It's made us better as a team. As I've said in the last couple of weeks, we're trending in the right direction as far as getting get some guys back I mean, you immediately saw the presence of (James) Skalski, what he brings to the table, and Tyler Davis I mean he's a special player. It's the first time I think we've had Tyler (Davis) and (Bryan) Bresee available together in forever-- maybe Wake Forest."

On Clemson’s depth:
"We're throwing the ball all over the place and we've got Justyn Ross, (Joseph) Ngata, and (Frank) Ladson all on shelf , you know, those are three pretty good players. I'm just proud of our guys and our coaches for finding a way and the guys stepping up. Two seniors, Amari (Rodgers) and Cornell (Powell)-- I mean, wow, what a year they've had and Trevor's just been amazing. Then D.J. (Uiagalelei) when he said his opportunities to play, you just see how special that young guy is. It's been a challenging year in a lot of ways, but a lot of fun."
