No. 3 Clemson is back on the road to take on Virginia Tech in frigid Blacksburg, and the Tigers are currently a 23.5 point favorite over the Hokies. You can see how the national media is viewing this game below.

The Athletic, 54-27 Clemson/58-6 Clemson

What they said:

Bruce Feldman- Clemson is ticked off and looking to make a statement. This figures to be a very long day for a Hokies team that has fallen apart down the stretch. Clemson 58, Virginia Tech 6

Stewart Mandel- Trevor Lawrence threw for 403 yards in his first game back last week. This one feels like a Travis Etienne special. The ACC’s all-time leading rusher has gone largely quiet in the Tigers’ past two games against Notre Dame and Pitt, but this week he gets to feast on the Hokies’ 93rd-ranked rushing defense (4.8 YPC). Clemson 54, Virginia Tech 27

Athlon Sports, 48-17 Clemson

What they said:

The good news for the Hokies is that they had an extra week to prepare while Clemson took on Pittsburgh. That may be where the positivity ends. Their game two weeks ago against Pitt was without question their worst performance of the season, and the second 30 minutes, after falling down by two scores just before halftime, was particularly abysmal. Justin Fuente's job security is in question, and Clemson is coming to town needing a win to claim an ACC Championship Game spot. Oh, joy. We will see very early on if the Hokies even want to play this game. I believe they will come out with passion at the start, but the Tigers will quickly stifle that. Clemson will win going away to set up the rematch with Notre Dame on Dec. 19.

Bleacher Report, 45-19

What they said:

The Hokies have lost three straight entering this game, including a 47-14 trouncing at the hands of Pitt two weeks ago. They spent five weeks hovering around the bottom of the AP poll earlier this year, but they have clearly not lived up to those expectations.

Pitt quarterback Kenny Pickett threw for 404 yards against the Hokies, while the running game averaged 4.8 yards per carry and scored three touchdowns. Sounds like it's going to be a long day for the Virginia Tech defense against the one-two punch of Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne.

What they said:

There's a ruthlessness to the way the Tigers take care of business as you get closer to the College Football Playoff and I expect that to continue in Blacksburg. I made the mistake of trying to get too smart and pick against Clemson last week and I won't make that mistake again. If Virginia Tech can ugly this game up it might be able to cover, but you don't want to be betting on unusual circumstances with a Clemson team that's finding its best form late in the year (again).

College Football News, 44-20 Clemson

What they said:

No, it’s not as simple as Clemson just beating Pitt by 35 and Virginia Tech losing its last game to the Panthers by 33.

Watch out.

This is a very, very dangerous Virginia Tech team with the parts to get hot and do something interesting from out of the blue. It’s struggling, but don’t be totally shocked if all of a sudden the team finds its fastball.

At least for a little bit.

Clemson will get that passing game going, it’ll roll for well over 350 yards, and the defense will overcome a strong day from the Hokie ground game to roll on into the ACC Championship.
