No. 2 Clemson Hits the Road to Take on UNC Greensboro

September 21, 2021

CLEMSON, S.C. -- The No. 2 Clemson men's soccer team travels to Greensboro, N.C. Tuesday night to take on the UNCG Spartans. Kickoff for the match is at 7 p.m. and the battle between ACC foes will be broadcast on ACCNX.

Clemson will look to continue its run of form, as the Tigers have started the season 7-0, outscoring their opponents 25-1 across the seven matches. That's good for the best goal differential in the nation. The last time the Tigers opened a season 7-0 was in 2019, when Clemson went eight consecutive matches before dropping a result. The last time Clemson opened the season allowing just one goal through its first seven games was in 1983.

Tuesday marks the 11th all-time meeting between this pair, with Clemson sporting a 8-2 advantage thus far. The Tigers have outscored the Spartans 20-8 all-time and have won each of the last three matches between the teams.

Starting in net for Clemson will be goalkeeper George Marks, who, with a clean sheet, would move into a tie for fourth on Clemson's all-time solo shutout leaderboard. The offense has been led by junior forwards Isaiah Reid and Mohamed Seye, whose 12 and 10 points, respectively, are first and second on the team.
