If Brent Venables leaving Clemson for Norman, Oklahoma wasn’t a big enough body shot for you, yesterday’s news that Defensive Tackles and Recruiting Coordinator Todd Bates was joining him felt like a low blow. Bates, who was recently given the title of Assistant Head Coach, along with a nice $200,000 pay raise to $715,000 at Clemson, decided to join Venables’ staff, tweeting yesterday, “Boomer Sooner” along with a photo of the duo back together again.
