Four-star cornerback Avieon Terrell (Westlake High, Atlanta, GA) verbally committed to Clemson around 1:00 p.m. on Monday after surprisingly tweeting his intentions to pledge to a school at 8:08 a.m.
The 5'11, 170-pound cornerback chose the Tigers over Auburn, Kentucky, Michigan State, and Texas A&M.
Terrell, the younger brother of Atlanta Falcons and former Tigers cornerback A.J. Terrell, was offered by Clemson on April. 29, 2020, which at the time, made him the only recruit with an offer for the 2023 recruiting class.
According to 247Sports, he is the 32nd ranked corner in the class but Rivals list him more favorably at 16th overall.
Scouting report on Rivals.com:
Terrell is silky smooth as a cornerback, flips his hips, and runs and while he’s not the strongest cornerback ever the four-star from Atlanta (Ga.) Westlake is always in the hip pocket of the receiver. There’s no fooling Terrell who doesn’t bite on double moves, seems to know all the tricks and then has nice length to stick his hand in there to poke it away.
Luke Winstel, recruiting director for Winstel Media, posted the tweet below after observing Terrell compete in May.
Terrell is the fifth commit in the 2023 class and second cornerback joining fellow Peach State native Branden Strozier, who committed on May 20.
