The Storylines

Though Saturday's game will not be Clemson's 2022 home finale, Clemson will honor its 2022 senior class prior to the game. In recent years in which Clemson has hosted its regular season finale against South Carolina, the Tigers have opted to instead honor the group in the game preceding that charged rivalry contest. Clemson's seniors are 43-7 in the last four seasons, the third-most wins in the country in that span behind Alabama (45) and Georgia (44). The group will have the opportunity to become the 11th senior class in Clemson history to win at least three conference championships when it faces North Carolina in the ACC Championship Game on Dec. 3.

A win Saturday would allow the Tigers to finish regular season conference play with a perfect ACC record for the ninth time in program history, joining the 1967 (6- 0), 1978 (6-0), 1981 (6-0), 1982 (6-0), 1983 (7-0), 2015 (8-0), 2018 (8-0) and 2019 (8-0) seasons.

Good afternoon everyone! Clemson kicks off against Miami in about 15 minutes. Anyone just see what happened as TCU lined up for the game winning field goal against Baylor?! That was almost a disaster.

Marcus Tate is down injured on the field. But the Tigers are in the red zone on the opening drive. I like what I'm seeing as Clemson wants to get it out on the perimeter on toss sweeps and they're using slants as their quick game.

Touchdown Tigers. Davis Allen catches the in breaking route for a 7-yard score. That was an impressive 12-play, 75 yard drive that took over 5 and a 1/2 minutes.

Miami missed a wide open touchdown to Xavier Restrepo on their first drive. Then a penalty pushes them back and they punt. Tigers take over, leading 7-0 with 7:39 to play in the first.

Jeremiah Trotter sacks Brown -- excellent pursuit there getting home on the blitz. Canes will be forced to punt with 1:53 to play in the first quarter. Tigers rolling early at 14-0. This is the best start I've seen for Clemson all year.

Luke Price's first catch of the season is a 5-yard TD reception on the throw back play action pass.

Tigers cash in on the takeaway and lead 21-0 with 10:22 to play before the half. I really like what I'm seeing from Clemson's offense today with the creativity that has been lacking. We saw a crossing pattern to Kobe Pace on the play before the score.

That's what this offense needs as they head down the stretch here.

Xavier Restrepo ran a good route that would've been a first down but the throw wasn't great and the Canes punt.

Tigers have gone cold since the first two series on offense. See if they can get it going here

Timeout Clemson. They are on the door step of another score here just before the halftime break. A couple of nice quarterback runs from DJU to get him back in his rhythm.

HALF: Clemson 24, Miami 0

Really dominant half for Clemson -- probably the best they've looked all year. Miami has -5 yards rushing at the half. Clemson's offense is balanced with 128 in the air and 100 yards on the ground.

Ball security issues and the inability to put teams away in the second half have been frustrating. As much as this team has improved the past couple of weeks, these nagging issues feel like they are keeping Clemson from being among the elite.

Clemson secures their 12th straight 10 win season and it is their 40th straight win in Death Valley. They'll go for win 41 at home next Saturday in the rivalry game against South Carolina.
