Alex Taylor‍, the highly sought-after four-star wide receiver from Grimsley High School in Greensboro, NC, will announce his college choice one month from today. On July 29, 2023, Taylor will finally reveal the college program he intends to join.

Taylor has been on the radar of college coaches nationwide and holds the distinction of being Clemson's first wide receiver offer in the 2024 class, and the atmosphere has stood out when he’s visited.

“The genuine feeling there,” Taylor said. “It just feels amazing. Everyone feels happy and loves being there. Dabo really gets to know their families, know everybody on the staff, and where they came from. I really love how in tune he is with his players and all the staff members.”

The Tigers, known for their prowess in developing top-tier talent, have already secured commitments from two outstanding wide receivers in the 2024 class: five-star Bryant Wesco‍ and four-star (T.J.) Terrance Moore Jr.

When asked about his decision-making process, Taylor expressed admiration for former Clemson wideouts who have successfully transitioned to the NFL. He recognizes the importance of having a coach like Clemson's Tyler Grisham, who reached the NFL and understands the necessary steps to excel at the highest level.

"Seeing the receivers that made it to the NFL and the next level plays a real big part,” Taylor told ClemsonSportsTalk.com when he got his offer last summer. “Coach Grisham getting there (to the NFL), knowing what it takes to get to the NFL, and training his guys, definitely plays a role in my recruitment process."

At 6'2" and 175 pounds, Taylor says his ability to make contested catches is one of his best assets.

“I feel like I can make the 50-50 balls more like 80-20-- definitely that and reading the defenses before the play, seeing what releases I have to do is up there in Cover 3 or Cover 2,” Taylor said.

But Taylor's contributions extend beyond his playmaking abilities. He understands the value of teamwork and the importance of blocking to create opportunities for his teammates. Taylor's enthusiasm for blocking and his willingness to clear paths for his running backs demonstrate his selflessness and commitment to the entire team's success.

“I love blocking, getting my running backs to space, to do what they can do as well,” Taylor noted.

As the days count down to July 29, whichever program Taylor chooses will undoubtedly be landing a prospect who is committed to the game-- but more importantly, he’s committed to helping his team win no matter what.

I remember a few interviews with Alex that you guys have done. Seems like a great kid, but with Mike Matthews out there the WR room is in a tight spot. Not sure how they could take 4 WR in this class.

I like that he's invested in being a team player. That can be one of the toughest traits to find.
