Four-star small forward Dallas Thomas‍ committed to Clemson basketball on Monday. Thomas (6'8, 175) from Parkview Magnet in Little Rock, AR, is the first player in the Tigers' 2024 recruiting class.

"Slim" narrowed his list of schools to home state school Arkansas and four schools, Clemson, LSU, Memphis, and Missouri, with a Tiger as their mascot in May.

Thomas, the No. 66 recruit overall and 14th-ranked small forward, according to 247Sports, took an official visit to Clemson on June 14.

Clemson head coach Brad Brownell was able to snatch Thomas from Arkansas, not an easy task, considering Razorbacks head coach Eric Musselman led the program to consecutive NCAA Tournament Sweet Sixteens, including an Elite Eight berth in 2021-22.

Thomas is also coached by former Arkansas guard Scotty Thurman (1992–1995), who has worked for the men's basketball program as Director of Student-Athlete Development, color analyst for the radio broadcasts, and an assistant head coach for former head coach Mike Anderson from 2016-2019 before Anderson was fired after the 2018–19 season.

Thurman took the Parkview job in 2020 after he was not retained by Musselman.

Thomas is projected to man the small forward position on the collegiate level, though with added weight, the former 6-foot-4 freshman guard could play minutes as a stretch power forward. He made over 39 percent of his three-point attempts as a sophomore, and his shooting made him a Top 100 prospect.

ESPN national recruiting director Paul Biancardi on Thomas:

With a long and 'slim' frame, Thomas has all the tools that could take him a long way in the game with development and patience. His shooting stroke is effective from long range as it exudes balance and footwork. His ability to find the open pocket of space for his pull-up jumper is hard to guard. In the open floor, his offensive conversion game is fluid and direct as he puts pressure on the defense. A terrific long-term prospect.

Thomas averaged 16.5 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 2.1 blocks per game as a junior. He averaged 14.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.5 blocks per game as a sophomore.
