Clemson Receiver Signee Awarded Fifth Star

Clemson wide receiver signee Derion Kendrick was given a fifth star by Rivals today, making him the fifth member of Clemson's 2018 class to be a five-star prospect. Recruiting analyst Woody Wommack had some high praise for the newest five-star Tiger:

“I've been making the case for Kendrick to be a five-star since late August, when I saw him play live and walked away completely floored with his performance. Kendrick is an explosive athlete who spent the season playing quarterback for his high school but stepped in with the nation's best wide receivers at the Army Game and was one of the most consistent performers in attendance. I can't wait to see the type of plays he will make when he's a full-time wide receiver and has the chance to develop under the staff at Clemson.”

The 6'1", 185-pound receiver joins quarterback Trevor Lawrence, defensive ends Xavier Thomas and KJ Henry, and offensive tackle Jackson Carman as the five-stars in Clemson's 15 man class. Clemson has the second most five-star prospects in the country, trailing only Georgia who has seven.
