Here are a few unedited notes from Dabo Swinney’s time with the media today after practice. You can always watch the full video above as well!

On ball security: “It’s been good. We’ve done a lot of drill work. Just tried to create a lot of strain in practice in our normal periods. Guys have practiced well, honestly. We do that every single week.”

On Khalil Barnes’ play last weekend: “Khalil and Avieon are the two guys working in that spot in our normal nickel package. Two good players-- two really, really good players with bright futures. Barnes did a nice job for us last week. This is a great opportunity for him to get some big time valuable experience.”

On Wade Woodaz: “He’s a football player. He’s got great instincts for the game. He’s a baller. The kid is tough. He’s physical. He can run. He really understands the game at a high level. He played most of his career as a quarterback, and as a safety, so he has a great understanding of the game and the instincts to go with it. He’s a great effort guy. He’s a great preparer and he loves practice. He’s a fun guy to coach.”

On a night game vs. a day game: “Just tell us when we are going to play. I just enjoy having a chance to compete and play regardless of whatever time it is. We don’t control that, so I don’t spend much time worrying about that.”

On what stands out about FAU: “Offensively, their schematically going to be a challenge. They do some really good stuff. They strain you from a discipline standpoint. They really test you with your eyes. They do a lot of different motions, they probably motion about 40-50% of the time. The’ve got a lot of speed.”

On Tyler Brown’s play these first two games: “He’s just going to keep growing. Keep blossoming. He and Antionio (Williams) have been a nice little one-two punch for us. It’s really nice to not have much drop off-- there’s really not a lot of drop off other than Antonio has a little more experience. He’s a guy that-- to this point-- has played pretty good football for a young guy. He’s played with no fear and he’s a guy that can show up in special teams like he did last week.”
