Clemson secured its second commitment in the 2026 class today as four-star Knoxville, Tennessee athlete Shavar Young Jr.‍ The Tigers landed a versatile prospect over schools like Tennessee, Kentucky, and Oregon.

Young is a talented prospect who has been courted by the Tigers at defensive back or wideout. Young announced his decision by putting on a Tennessee shirt and hat before revealing his real choice, switching out the hat and shirt for Clemson gear.

Young carries an 89.11 On3 Industry Rating and is considered one of the Top 10 players in the state by all major recruiting services.

Young, who plays his high school ball at Webb School of Knoxville, has been watching the Clemson Tigers since Amari Rodgers and Tee Higgens, both stars from the Volunteer State, played in Tiger Town.

“I’ve been following Clemson for a while, especially with Amari Rodgers and Tee Higgins coming from my area,” Young told ClemsonSportsTalk.com recently.

During the recruiting process, Young made several trips to Clemson, including a visit this week. That visit was enough for the talented junior to shut down his recruitment and commit to the Tigers.

Standing at 6'0 and weighing 180 pounds, Young boasts an exceptional skill set on both sides of the ball, making him a potential dual-impact player in Dabo Swinney’s program.
