Jordan Young capped off a special week on Saturday with a commitment to Clemson over Florida State, Michigan, and N.C. State. On Friday, he made history after becoming the first athlete to win back-to-back WSOCTV Big 22 Player of the Year Awards.
Young, the No. 5 athlete in the 2025 class, was on campus for the Tigers' 59-31 win over N.C State and the 40-14 victory over Stanford.
In July, the Monroe High (NC) standout told Clemson Sports Talk why Clemson was one of his final choices.
"The program is known for its strong emphasis on academics as well as athletics, which is important to me," he said. "I was impressed by the team's culture and how welcoming everyone was during my visit. The city around the university also offers a lot of opportunities and a great living environment."
Young, projected to be a safety in college, is credited with 18 receptions, 420 yards, and five touchdowns on offense and 25 tackles, 5 interceptions, and 8 pass breakups on defense this season, according to MaxPreps.
