Clemson men's basketball signed TCU transfer forward Liutauras (Lih-TAO-ris) Lelevicius (Le-LEH-vich-us) on Monday.
Lelevicius is a versatile 6-foot-7, 225-pound junior, who brings proven shooting and experience at multiple positions.
A native of Kaunas, Lithuania, he played both forward spots for the Horned Frogs last season, averaging 8.0 points and 3.4 rebounds across 34 games with 22 starts. His perimeter efficiency stands out, knocking down 46 of 121 three-point attempts (38 percent), including an impressive 45 percent clip in Big 12 play. He also led TCU with an 88.7 percent mark from the free-throw line.
Lelevicius logged 23.7 minutes per game for a TCU team that advanced to the NCAA Tournament before falling to Duke, 81-58, in the East Region second round. His scoring ability showed in flashes throughout the season, highlighted by a 23-point performance at Kansas, where he connected on 5 of 7 shots from beyond the arc. He also delivered an all-around effort against the Jayhawks in the Big 12 Tournament quarterfinals, posting 14 points and a season-high eight rebounds.
Prior to TCU, Lelevicius spent time at Oregon State, where he averaged 8.7 points and 4.0 rebounds as a sophomore while shooting 37.9 percent from three-point range and 85.3 percent from the free-throw line.
With starting small forward Jake Wahlin transferring back to his home state of Utah to join BYU, Lelevicius is expected to factor into the rotation immediately, either competing for a starting role or providing depth behind redshirt sophomore Dallas Thomas.
Lelevicius becomes Clemson’s third transfer addition this offseason, joining Notre Dame rising junior sharpshooter Cole Certa and Samford rising senior forward/center Dylan Faulkner.
