Bryce Perry-Wright‍ isn’t in a hurry to make a decision, but the four-star defensive tackle from Buford High School has no shortage of interest in his recruitment. Clemson has been a key player in that process, and the Tigers continue to make their presence felt.

At 6-foot-2 and 250 pounds, Perry-Wright holds a 93.08 On3 Rating and has drawn interest from some of the nation’s top programs. Clemson, however, has a deeper connection. His mother is the sister of Tiger walk-on defensive end Armon Mason and he is also a cousin of former Clemson star defensive tackle Grady Jarrett, as Jarrett’s mother and Perry-Wright’s grandmother are twin sisters. That family bond has played a role in Perry-Wright’s attention toward the Tigers, and his relationship with the staff has only strengthened over time.

“I talk to them all the time,” Perry-Wright said of Clemson.

That contact has increased even more with the addition of Tom Allen as Clemson’s new defensive coordinator. Allen had been recruiting Perry-Wright to Penn State before taking the job with the Tigers, a move that Perry-Wright took notice of.

“Great add-on for the team,” Perry-Wright said. “I love everything they’re doing. They are in my top schools.”

In January, Dabo Swinney and defensive tackle coach Nick Eason visited Perry-Wright and his family, a moment that left a lasting impression.

“It was a wonderful visit for the family,” he said. “To come down—just having a great conversation about life. What they can do to help me develop as the next great player that comes out of Clemson.”

Perry-Wright, who visited Clemson last spring and took in the Tigers’ season opener against Georgia in Atlanta, is set to return on March 8 for Clemson’s Elite Retreat. That visit will be a crucial moment as he continues to evaluate his options.

“The recruiting process has been very awesome,” Perry-Wright said. “I speak to pretty much every school on a regular basis, and I am just enjoying this whole process.”

Perry-Wright has been one of the most sought-after defensive linemen in the 2025 class, and his schedule reflects that. He plans to visit Auburn (May 16-18), Clemson (May 30-June 1), Georgia (June 6-8), Texas (June 13-15), and Texas A&M (June 20-22). He also hopes to get to Ohio State, USC, Oregon, Colorado, and Tennessee if possible.

Clemson’s defensive line board remains small, with Perry-Wright, Deuce Geralds(6’1, 255) from Collins Hill High School in Suwanee, GA, and Kameron Cody‍—the 6-foot-3, 281-pound tackle from Benedictine Military School in Savannah—as the only current offers at the position. Cody, who has Clemson in his top five, is another name to watch in the Tigers’ defensive front recruiting efforts.

As for Perry-Wright, he’s taking his time, but Clemson has made it clear that he is a priority. With a deep-rooted connection, consistent communication, and a defensive-minded coaching staff that continues to impress him, the Tigers are positioning themselves well in his recruitment. March 8 will be another chance for them to make their case.
