The Storylines

Clemson attempting to complete its eighth undefeated regular season in school history, joining the 1900 (6-0), 1906 (4-0-3), 1948 (10-0), 1950 (8-0-1), 1981 (11-0), 2015 (12-0) and 2018 (12-0) Clemson squads. A win would make it Clemson's sixth time finishing a regular season without any losses or ties.

The Tigers are also attempting to open a season 12-0 for only the fourth time, joining a 12-0 record in every game of the 1981 season and a 12-0 mark in the first 12 games of the 2015 and 2018 seasons. Clemson winning the first 12 games of a season for the third time under Head Coach Dabo Swinney (2015 and 2018). Swinney was already the first coach in Clemson history to coach the school to multiple 12-0 starts. Danny Ford accomplished the feat once during Clemson's 1981 national championship campaign.

Clemson could also win a third straight road game against South Carolina for the first time since defeating the Gamecocks on the road three times across the 2003-07 seasons. The Tigers enter the contest having won its last three games in the series against South Carolina by at least 21 points (49 points in 2016, 24 points in 2017 and 21 points in 2018). A fourth consecutive win of 21 points of more would mark the longest streak of 21-point victories in the series by either team.

Big fourth and goal coming up here on the opening drive for Clemson. Let's see if the Tigers can punch it in here.

ETN stuffed at the goal line to end a 14-play opening drive. SC with the ball.

Clemson cashes in on the Hilinski interception with a 10-yd Tee Higgins touchdown on a beautifully thrown fade pass to the left corner -- Lawrence put it right in the bucket. 7-0 Clemson, 6:58 left first quarter in Williams-Brice

The Tigers defensive line has played well so far. Hard to imagine the Gamecocks doing much on offense today.

What a throw from Lawrence right on the money to Higgins... 65-yard bomb to Tee Higgins. 14-0

Timeout South Carolina with 8:20 left before the half. The Gamecocks have a good drive going here including a 30-yard completion from Hilinski to Kyle Markway. It's 3rd and 9 following the timeout.

South Carolina got a field goal to get something out of the last drive. It's 14-3 Clemson with 4:14 to go before the half.

Clemson is back on offense and the Gamecocks are challenging the ruling on the field that Justyn Ross was not forced out of bounds on a 34-yard completion. Clemson would have the ball on the SC 14 yard line if the play stands. I think it's a catch.

Lawrence and Co. with an impressive two-minute drill to get a field goal at the half. Tigers in control with a 24-3 lead. He has completed his last 12 passes.

Goodness....this team puts points up in a hurry. 9:59 left in Q3 and the Tigers are up 31-3 and it feels like the game is just starting. Cruise control

Lawrence had completed 16 straight at one point during the drive, which is a school record but Etienne wrapped it up with a 2-yard TD. All Tigers in Columbia up 31-3.

Clemson up 38-3 with an Etienne TD but I'm not sure why Lawrence was still in the game there.... 28-point lead with the starters still in. Maybe they wanted to finish the drive? Wonder if Swinney will get asked about that after the game.
