The Storylines

Clemson will wrap up the 2020 abbreviated schedule with a rare December regular-season finale against the Virginia Tech Hokies in Blacksburg this evening. Clemson has played 1,218 regular-season games in its 125-season history, posting a 734-439-45 record in those contests. However, only six of those 1,218 regular-season games have been played in the month of December.

Last week marked the return of quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who completed 26-of-37 passes for 403 yards and two touchdowns and no interceptions in his first game action in 5 weeks. The Heisman candidate improved to 32-1 as a starter, tying the Clemson record for wins by a starting quarterback and improving his career winning percentage to .970, the best by an FBS quarterback with at least 30 starts since Division I split in 1978.
