Clemson sophomore golfer Doc Redman has decided to turn professional. Redman helped Clemson to a number-13 national finish at the NCAA Tournament on Monday.

Clemson is seeded 11th out of 30 teams for the 2018 NCAA Men’s Golf Championship Tournament that will begin Friday at Karsten Creek in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Bryson Nimmer fired a five-under par 67 and Doc Redman added a three-under-par 69 on Wednesday to lead Clemson to a second-place finish at the NCAA Bryan Regional near College Station, Texas.

Freshman Turk Pettit fired a seven-under-par 65, a school record-tying performance in the NCAA Tournament.

Clemson begins play as the No. 3 seed at the Bryan Regional on Monday.    The three-day 54-hole event will be played at The Traditions Club in Bryan, Texas. 

The top five schools in the 13-team tournament will advance to the NCAA National Tournament in Stillwater, Oklahoma May 25-30.

Clemson's talented sophomore struggled on the back nine Friday and missed a chance to become the second Clemson amateur to make the cut at Augusta.

A birdie on the third hole, "Flowering Peach," at Augusta National Golf Course put Clemson's Doc Redman near the top of the leaderboard.

Today, the sophomore is the eighth Clemson golfer in history to play on golf’s biggest stage as an amateur. Redman will tee off at 10:53 AM this morning alongside Sergio Garcia and Justin Thomas. The threesome is slated to tee off at 1:38 PM on Friday.

Doc Redman made birdie on each of his last two holes,  and Turk Pettit finished second overall, leading Clemson to a one-shot victory at the Puerto Rico Classic at Rio Mar Country Club on Tuesday.
