The Storylines
Saturday night’s contest between No. 1 Clemson and No. 7 Miami has a similar feeling of the 2016 Clemson - Louisville matchup between Deshaun Watson and Lamar Jackson. Fast forward four years later, and this is Clemson’s biggest home game since that night.
Tonight’s game features two of the nation’s top quarterbacks in Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence and Miami’s D’Eriq King with offenses that are loaded with talent for the Tigers including wide receiver Amari Rodgers and running back Travis Etienne and for the Canes, tight end Brevin Jordan and defensive end Quincy Roche.
Both defenses are loaded with talent such as Andrew Booth for the Tigers and as Quincy Roche for the Canes as we mentioned as well. Since 2016, Clemson and Miami rank No. 1 and No. 2 in both sacks and tackles for loss. One key factor to watch will be who can win the battle up front. Whoever can will have an edge in tonight’s game.
