The Storylines

After meeting only twice in Clemson’s first 119 seasons of play, Clemson and Notre Dame will meet for the fifth time in eight seasons when the Tigers and Fighting Irish renew acquaintances on Saturday, Nov. 5. Kickoff at Notre Dame Stadium is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.

In its most recent contest, Clemson recorded its 38th consecutive home victory, setting the ACC record and tying the 1919-27 Fighting Irish for the 10th-longest home winning streak in FBS history. Those Irish teams under the guidance of College Football Hall of Famer Knute Rockne were a combined 78-7-3 at all venues in the seasons comprising that streak.

But Clemson has supplemented its historic home streak with the nation’s best road record since 2015. Clemson’s 34-4 road record in that span gives the Tigers a national-best .895 road winning percentage, and Clemson’s 34 road wins since 2015 are three more than any other FBS program and five more than any other Power Five program.

Good evening everyone! Hope everyone is doing well. We are about 30 minutes from kickoff in South Bend between Clemson and Notre Dame. The game will be televised by NBC.

The Tigers have also clinched the Atlantic Division with Syracuse's loss to Pitt earlier today. They will face North Carolina on the first Saturday in December in Charlotte in the ACC Championship.

Dabo Swinney and the Tigers elect to go for it on 4th and 4 but Notre Dame holds. DJU tried to hit the corner route but didn't give the receiver a chance there.

The Irish will have the ball near midfield when play resumes. Not a pretty start for the Tigers offensively as they have come out and are content to stick with the quick game right now.

Not the greatest punt for Aidan Swanson as he only got 24 yards out of it. Tigers still struggling to get anything going after a Will Shipley run for a 1st down.

The 42-yard field goal attempt is no good from Blake Grupe. Tyler Davis having a nice game so far with the knockdown during the drive. Tigers will look to get something going offensively when play resumes.

We have too much talent to allow this. Dabo has proven himself to be competent over the years but the coordinators have not. Sometimes being nice hurts you more than helps you.

Drew Pyne scores on the 5-yard keeper. Notre Dame with a nice mix of run and play action to get in scoring position. That was a long drive for the Irish as well.

HALF: Notre Dame 14, Clemson 0

Tigers held scoreless for the first time since last year's season opener vs. Georgia. They were held to 71 yards offensively in the first half. Clemson has to find a spark and continue to push the envelope with the run game with DJ struggling. And maybe it's time to consider putting in Cade Klubnik for a series or two?

"Good job by DJ to hold on to the football"

Thats probably the best thing you can say about DJ that half. He didnt fumble when getting sacked. Second half he has one drive to show improvement. After that he is done IMO

Drew Pyne took a big hit from Jeremiah Trotter on the incompletion and they are reviewing it from targeting. It looks like roughing the passer to me.

Notre Dame has the ball and is driving, up 14-0 with 10:30 to play in the third.

Wes Goodwin is an intelligent man. Thats all fine and good. What he is not is a firestarter. BV could light a fire under the D. Goodwin can't do that. Sometimes an analyst needs to remain an analyst and not be put in charge.

Brady-- you might be on to something, but this isn't on the defense.

They've given up 7 points-- the offense is the issue.
