The Storylines

The last time Clemson visited Bobby Dodd Stadium at Grant Field in Atlanta it was a coming-out party for then-freshman quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Lawrence threw for 176 yards and four touchdowns in a 49-21 win over the Yellow Jackets and the rest is history as the Cartersville, Ga. native was named the starter and the Tigers went on to win the national championship later that season.

Today, the Tigers return to the same field as Lawrence has a chance to become the fourth quarterback in Clemson history to win 30 games as a starter, joining Rodney Williams, Tajh Boyd and Deshaun Watson who are tied for the school record 32 each.

This game will feature another interesting matchup on the offensive and defensive lines as Clemson enters the game tied for second in the country with 18 sacks while Georgia Tech ranks tied seventh in the country for sacks allowed with two.

It's 52-7 Clemson at halftime. The only time I can remember right now that the Tigers have a dominant performance like this in ACC play was in 2015 against Miami.

Lawrence's career high in passing was 393 vs. South Carolina in 2018. Do the coaches give him one more pass?

According to Don Munson on the radio call, it was shoulder tightness which is the reason they held him out today.

And that's the ball game folks. Clemson pummels Georgia Tech, 73-7. No real big postgame thoughts today...just a dominant performance on both sides.
